@Dutchy,
mixed grain toast with a strange new dip I've tried making: mustard, butter, fresh sage, apple juice, cream cheese, parmesan cheese, pepper. (wikibooks.org cookbook, they called for cheddar)

@tsarstepan,
I make hummus out of black beans or pintos or garbanzos, get over it. Limas I haven't tried.

I've never grown lima beans but a friend has said lima beans from the vine are wonderful.

Lima bean hummus is quite tasty and it has the tahini so it's perfectly kosher (I mean kosher in the food sense not necessarily the rabbinical sense). You must try it tsarstepan- it'll change your thoughts and delight your tasters.

Fresh grown are a delicious treat. Another nice thing about lima beans is that they can be grown indoors and do quite well if you have windows with good sunlight. This way you can have them all year long even in cooler climates, although not in as great an amount as with the outdoor garden.

For the record, I grew my first lima beans when in the 4th grade as part of a science fair experiment-project.
