Roger and I went to Denny's. I got the veggie burger with incredibly mild chipotle dressing, mayo smidge (good, I don't like too much) and very shortly caramelized onions. Took half home, will toss the bun parts. Onion rings, ate two, ok, three. Took the rest home, but won't end up eating. Water with lemon. The veggie patty? eh. I liked the one at Model Drug Store cafe much better. Also, more fun place to go to, but far away.

The chipotle was mispronounced by the waiter, which I liked him for.

I've been trying out Denny's menu. So far I liked the grilled tilapia with mashed potatoes and a salad I don't remember but wasn't a complainer. The fish was good, a news item for this part of town, and I used most of the giant mound of the potatoes as a take home to mix with sardines for fishcakes.

Hi, hamburgboy. I don't always post when I see you posting, but I am always listening. I only tried B & B once. Egads, maybe 1962 or 1963..

I know you have posted lots before, but I still want to hear - - - please tell us some stories about food in your life.
I figure you may have before on a2k. I guess I'm asking about your overall thoughts.

My post here annoys even me.

NO !!! B & B for me - it's has to be the good old " BENEDICTINE " on it's own - NO ice , please , please , please !

i have to admit , i do like good food .
and mrs. H did her best to spoil me : duck , chicken , turkey and goose ;
rabbit , veal , beef and pork - and also some lamb - and liver ( veal liver was the best ) .
of course , those days are gone , i'm sad to say .
at the Seniors' Residence things are considerable more frugal -
but i always say : " nobody living at the Kingsdale Residence has died of starvation YET ! " .
most seniors are happy , as long as they get icecream - and cake with LOTS of ICING ( seems like they need a sugar fix daily ) .
i'm quite satisfied , as long as i get my oatmeal in the morning
and have some fresh fruit and yoghurt for dessert .

( today was special - went with Fred - another old codger and a retired preacher - to Captain George for some hot fish and chips - unfortunately , they had no clam chowder today ) .

We'll talk later, burgerman.

Today I went and got the dark roast at Starbucks instead of medium roast. I honestly cannot tell the difference.
