Today was a special food day; for lunch our social circle had lunch at Sam's Chowderhouse in Half Moon Bay, and some of us had the lobster roll selected as one of five best sandwiches in the US. For dinner, we went to Shanghai dumpling in Millbrae, a 2010 winner from Michelin. Couldn't have asked for a better "meal day."

@cicerone imposter,
Sounds fabulous cicerone, but they'll have to be good to beat our lobster rolls! Our rock lobsters are recognised as the tastiest in the universe and usually the whole catch is exported to the Asian markets.

Fried whiting fillets.

just had lunch with Mame, joeBlow and Setanta at origin

http://origintoronto.com/#/menu/

I had the deviled eggs with gremolata and smoked bacon, the smoked cod croquettes with saffron aioli and the creamed spinach, walnuts, raisins and reggiano.

I had samples of Mames's grilled rock hen with cacciatore, orzo and argula as well as a sample of joeB's braised pork back ribs in sweet chili sauce. There was also a sampling of Set's origin burger served with spicy spanish fries and cream soda float. The fries had a chorizo and manchego topping.

what a meal
what a nice time with friends
