We had nothing like Chicago, but it was still pretty crazy here over the last 18 hours - it was a fast and dirty storm. My toes are still a bit cool.

In preparation for the big game and the house being overrun with people, I've been experimenting with bloody mary variations. Have stumbled on...

Bloody chelada. Bloody mary mix, heavy on horseradish, tequila, pilsner, garnished with ground black pepper and sweet gherkins. 1 part beer to 2 parts bloody maria. Give the gherkins a few minutes to suffuse the drink with a bit of sweetness -- excellent.
