@ehBeth,
Hasn't happened yet, but I got my traditional southwest New Year meal in the oven and should be ready to eat in couple hours - roast pork shoulder simmering in a thick gravy, sweet potato casserole, pork based dressing, asparagus w/philly cream chesse and chive topping, rolls, garnishes of all kinds pickles, olives, celery, salad (potato, macaroni, lettuce, jello), 2 kinds cranberry sauce, 3 kinds of pie, and of course - apple sauce and black eyed peas. Enough to feed 10 with lots of leftovers! Now, what did I forget?

@Dutchy,
Have a couple for me Dutchy - and, invites to ehBeth, can you get here in an hour or two? In fact, invites to everybody, I got loads - Happy New Year to all.

Got my pot roast and roasting chicken in the freezer yesterday, this is important for me cause it means I won't have a worry for food in the New Year. I guess for our Oz friends - it is already day 2!

@eurocelticyankee,
Coffee

Does anyone have particular dishes they make on New Year's Day? Here in Louisiana, it is common to make corned beef, cabbage, and black eyed peas.

Mine are listed in the menu from above.... Some from all sides of the family plus a couple I add in. This is one big food day for me - and, I love to cook it!
