Oh. Now that's an interesting one. We are all children of god, some are just more children of god than others, huh?. Huxley would be proud. It seems like a most un-Jesus-like way to be. It certainly confirms to me that Christianity is fundamentally evil.

The tabloids are left wing? I don't read them, so I've no idea about tabloid politics.

Ask yourself, would a conservative put a Christian woman stricken with cancer on the front page?

This was done in such disgustingly poor taste...

I admit I was nonplussed by this, and decided to go pay bills, run errands, water the wilting newly planted penstemons.
I'd make it a sig line, except it would annoy me seeing it on all my own posts.

In recent years I have admired Tammy Faye for her bravery in sharing how she has coped with the very painful episodes in her life.

I am so sad that she is so ill. I hope she can keep on wearing her mascara and touch people with her indomitable spirit.

She's an original.

Tammy Faye is one woman I can't decide how I feel about. On one hand, I think she's a genuine person who says and does exactly what her heart tells her to do, no matter what anyone else thinks. On the other hand, I think Tammy Faye is a narcicisstic person who has no sense of pride or shame and will say and so anything for attention. Over the past 20 years I've flip flopped many times about my feelings for Tammy Faye.

With her illness today, I hope God will bless her as her end time comes near.

wait a minute, are you telling me that that reject from a revlon bargain bin is one of them who are of the household of the faith

she she didn't so much use the lord's name in vain, she used it for personal gain

you're a delusional little man aren't you

I hope you are not calling ME a delusional little man. I'll mince words with you any day and win so don't even attempt to go there. Then all will see who the little man really is...

A little man has to kick a woman when she is down...

You seem to have a number of your own faults... Legions...

And you know her heart and her true intentions? Remember when you point a finger at someone you have three pointing back at yourself. I happen to have liked the way she made herself look.. You just want to hold people to a higher standard than you yourself live up to...

Luke 6:37
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

Comment: Defend those truly in need and the Lord will come to your own defense it times of tribulations...

Some have humbled themselves before God.

Have you?

Judge Gently

Pray don't find fault with the man who limps or stumbles along the road,
unless you have worn the shoes he wears
or struggled beneath his load.
There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt,
though hidden away from view,
or the burden he bears,
placed on your back might cause you to stumble too.

Don't sneer at the man who's down today
unless you have felt the blow
that caused his fall or felt the shame
that only the fallen know.
You may be strong,
but still the blows
that were his if dealt to you,
in the selfsame way, at the self
same time,
might cause you to stagger too.

Don't be too harsh with the man who sins
or pelt him with word or stone,
unless you are sure, yea, doubly sure,
that you have no sins of your own -
for you know perhaps if the tempter's voice
should whisper as softly to you
as it did to him when he went astray,
it might cause you to stumble too.

I am Resolved

I am resolved no longer to linger,
Charmed by the world's delight,
Things that are higher, things that are nobler,
These have allured my sight.

Refrain
I will hasten to Him,
Hasten so glad and free;
(Hasten glad and free)
Jesus, greatest, highest,
I will come to Thee.

I am resolved to go to the Savior,
Leaving my sin and strife;
He is the true One, He is the just One,
He hath the words of life.

Refrain
I will hasten to Him,
Hasten so glad and free;
(Hasten glad and free)
Jesus, greatest, highest,
I will come to Thee.

I am resolved to follow the Savior,
Faithful and true each day;
Heed what He sayeth, do what He willeth,
He is the living way.

Refrain
I will hasten to Him,
Hasten so glad and free;
(Hasten glad and free)
Jesus, greatest, highest,
I will come to Thee.

I am resolved to enter the kingdom
Leaving the paths of sin;
Friends may oppose me, foes may beset me,
Still will I enter in.

Refrain
I will hasten to Him,
Hasten so glad and free;
(Hasten glad and free)
Jesus, greatest, highest,
I will come to Thee.

I am resolved, and who will go with me?
Come, friends, without delay,
Taught by the Bible, led by the Spirit,
We'll walk the heav'nly way.

Refrain
I will hasten to Him,
Hasten so glad and free;
(Hasten glad and free)
Jesus, greatest, highest,
I will come to Thee.

Orwell . . . you wanted George Orwell:

I ONLY know Tammy Faye from tabloids. My mom loves those rags. Grew up seeing that face on the coffee table.
I still had to check to find out what she actually did in this world. I just know her as the Woman with the Make-Up Face like gramma. Smile

Christians often have a hard time expressing their feelings directly, don't they?

Not always. Certainly seems rampant in my experience.

Rex, you could have simply said "I am upset to see Tammy on tabloids when she is sick".

Instead you put on the tiara. I suppose it gives your man a breather, but still!

Give me that tiara, damn it!
