I got in on a group purchase...

I love the idea of having flash on my website.
As is, right now, my site is boring and stale compared to the competition.
It looks cheap and simple and I dont want that.

So I jumped in ( saved HUNDREDS) but now, Im looking at this big ole program and I dunno **** about it.

I google " mac flah 8 tutorials" or other key word combinations and I find
A L O T of choices.

My questions-

is there one specific over all tutorial that is good for REALLLLLY green people like me?

Will Macromedia require me to learn to write HTML?

Am I nuts? Laughing

Learning Flash is a very big undertaking.

You need to learn actionscript, which is a programming language based on javascript. There is a site called Flashkit.com that has just about everything you could ever want to know on it, including little flash movies that you can download in order to see how the effects were created.

On the plus side, you can make a LOT of money once you get good at it. Here in NYC, people who have a decent knowledge of Flash make at least forty bucks an hour.

I was taught the basics of Flash a while ago, back when they were on version 5. I'm thinking of trying it again.

Yeah, $40/hour. And that's just the low end. But that's crazy NYC wages.

If you know what you want to do, you might be able to look it up on that site I mentioned, flashkit.com, and download a little flash movie that does what you want. They have a tutorials section and a search function.

Good luck.

That is what I have been looking for and hope to find.
I have a general idea of what I want, and I only want it on one page of my site so I might be able to do this yet..

we shall see

thanks for the link . Smile
