outlook 2003 greyed out buttons

Hi everyone,

In Outlook 2003 with windows xpsp2 sometimes my send and forward and reply buttons are greyed out so I cannot send email until I have rstarted the application, it will often happen when edited a recieved email which i will forward on or when i copy and email address in the from field to add to contacts. I have updated windows and office to current versions. Also i have checked that the edit messages with word option is unticked. Any ideas would be most welcome !!!!!!!!!
