All of a sudden out of the blue my keyboard started producing the following when I type the alphabet:
abcdefgh51230n6*qrst4vwxyz
I can correct this only by pressing the "Fn" key as I type the error letters.
Any idea what gives and how to fix it? By the way I tried restoring the computer to an earlier date but the computer won´t let me. It always says pick another date. It is a Sony Vaio laptop.
Sorry, I don't know how to fix your problem. That reminds me of the time that my password to something important would not work. After a lot of agonizing, I realized that my keyboard was not producing one of the letters that was in the password.
Well I found the answer and I will share it in case any other novices make the same mistake. I had inadvertently depressed the number lock key. I actually found reference to the issue in the the Vaio users guide. It says depressing that key will disable exactly those letters of the alphabet: i j k l m o p.
Phew!!!
