Gautam: as I mentioned before, you don't need to be a citizen to be an advisor! So, are you sympathetic to the Democratic cause? That is the only proviso!

Dahling, I am a banker. For the right amount of money, I will be sympathetic to *any* cause !

However, that is leavened somewhat by the fact that PDiddie has spurned me as his running mate. Hmph. We could get this country back on track, I'm tellin' ya.

Whaaaaa? I guess the First Lady is the last to know! Please point me to where he spurned you and I'll see what I can do...

Guatam: I believe you have just let me know the Republican have got you in their pockets - sad, so sad ...

Well, Fbaezer said "PDiddie and sozobe for Democrats", and PDiddie accepted the nom and then went looking for a running mate, all innocent-like.

No, Soz, he simply asked me (ie "Sweetie") and I declined but clarified I would accept as his First Lady. I'm certain he wants you to be VP! We both do, so now would you please accept?

On BEHALF OF THE GREAT STATE OF MAINE AND THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLAVAINIA, I WOULD LIKE TO RISE AND STAND IN JOYOUS SUPPORT OF THE NOMINATION OF OUR CANDIDATE , YOUR FRIEND AND MINE, P DIDDIE.

Think of how we introduce him at state functions. President Diddie and the First lady -mrs Diddie.

I wanna be on the campaign trail, Ive been in the trenches with Diddie ( we call him P) , waaay back in the abuzz days in the ZIngerian Wars.

Now , weve gotta cobble together some factoids about the life of our candidate.

Soz, I have checked with our President-to-be and he tells me he indeed would like you to run as VP on the Democratic ticket. Do you need him to offer you the position directly or will you please accept same from his First Lady? Believe me, per usual, the woman "behind" the man always gets what she wants...I am simply too uncomfortable being in a position of more power than running my "husband"...so, will you please join the ticket: PDiddie/Sozobe: Democratics For A REAL Change? He's busy right now with some clients, but I can assure you he would like you to join us, ok?

Well, good grief, SweetC. Thank God we're back on track. The disorganization here rivals the chad business that created havoc and put King George in office.

What is the slate so far?

Farmerman, this is the bio PDiddie and I have so far...see what you think:

PDiddie was born in Washington, D.C., and resides in Houston, Texas. He received a bachelor's degree in 1970 and a doctorate in political science in 1971 from Harvard University. He was a professor of political science at the University of Texas at Austin, 1971-90. While teaching there, he was a spokesman for anyone who opposed Reagan administration policies. He wrote two books on community organizing in Texas. He was elected to the Democratic National Committee in 1976 and was re-elected in 1980. He was a leader of the Rev. Jesse Jackson's presidential campaign in Texas in 1988 and later worked for Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis' campaign in the state.

PDiddie got off to a disastrous start in Washington, angering Vietnam veterans when he staged a news conference in front of the Vietnam memorial. By the end of his first year in office, he had shown some evidence of gaining respectability, according to both Democratic and Republican colleagues. PDiddie played a role in organizing opposition to a national energy policy that was strongly opposed by environmentalists, and maintained a solidly liberal voting record. "People were saying, `We think Senator Diddie, that you'll be in there pitching for us.'"

In 1997, PDiddie was on the run all year, trying to raise his national profile and assessing his chances as a candidate for president in 2000. His national poverty tour, which started in Mississippi where he retraced a 1967 trip by Robert Kennedy, brought some national media attention, of which he had little previously. He also made several policy speeches to university audiences and addressed numerous state party and labor gatherings.

PDiddie, who had been critical of the Clinton administration's centrist philosophy, set himself up as an alternative to Vice President Al Gore. He became the first candidate to set up an exploratory committee. While viewed as a long shot, he was warmly received by party and union activists in New Hampshire and Iowa ; a stop in New Hampshire in November left him feeling "very optimistic," he said.

In his second term, Diddie focused on providing getting health insurance equal treatment for mental illness, an effort President Bush endorsed in 2001; fighting for more money for special education; and succeeded in getting more money to combat homelessness among veterans. When the Democrats took over the Senate in 2001, Diddie became chairman of two subcommittees: The Health subcommittee on Employment, Safety and Training, and the Foreign Relations subcommittee on Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs. In addition, to help with his re-election campaign, Democrats named Diddie to the Senate Agriculture Committee where he
came out against a resolution authorizing the president to use military force against Iraq, saying he could only support a resolution that worked through the United Nations.

Hmmmm. Spin doctor maybe. How about Secretary of Education? Boy would I shake up things in that position: First, a moratorium on standardized testing. Second, the classroom teacher would run the show.
Third, PAC's not allowed, and the list goes on and on.

Roger, Roger, Roger: the whole point is that, while my "husband" was in the Senate, he was never a Washington insider. He tried to effect change within the system. Now, after he becomes President, he will continue that effort. <heavy sigh>
