Flushd, isn't Winnipeg far too cold to leave dogs outside in winter, even if they have a little dog house??

Thank you for posting that story, LRH, that is very responsible of you. We don't happen to use those brands of dog food, because the dogs are on a vet recommended brand at the moment, but i'm sure this is valuable news for many dog owners. Again, thank you . . .

Evil or Very Mad If Krišpín does not stop his evil habit of placing self on top of my duvet, right on the upper end in the center so that i cannot get under and THEN growl at me as i try to get under...well, if he doesn't stop that HE will soon get himself a spot in the doggie heaven. Evil or Very Mad

Miss Cleopatra was giving that a try - trying to prevent me from getting into the bed next to HER Setanta. We had to have a little reminder class about who the alpha in this pack is - and it's me.

Growling at me is not something she'll be doing again with any success.

The way I ensure alpha status in my home, I buy myself a bigger bone to chew on than Punky gets. Drive her crazy to watch.

well i was raised on a poor kentucky clay farm , where dogs was a friend back then, i was born in 1950 and back then times was rough in eastern kentucky, my dad loved dogs , we had hunting dogs , tree dogs ,rabbit dogs and you name one and we had it more than likely, one dog we had that be called old whitey who looks like the RICA, dog, that had the black spot over one eye, old whitey was a snake dog for sure, all of us kids back then roamed around in our backwoods home and old whitey was always tagging alone, going in front of us through the woods checking for snakes, that dog was loved so much by all of us kids he seems like a person , he was so friendly and loved each member of our large family, he probadly saved us from getting copperhead or rattle snake bite, when he got old and died we all cryed we loved him so, and i will never forget what a wonderful dog and friend he was to us kids, and when he got old and died we all cryed , as thought he was a sister or brother to us , we sure missed old whitey and will never forget what a fine dogs he was and the best snake killer in the kentucky mountains, some dogs are nearly human and whitey was that type, when we laughed and played he joined in , he was the smartest dog ever to be on our little backwood farm , and i will never forget what a true and loyal friend us kid had in the green ridges of our kentucky home

I'm cooking lamb right now.

Both dogs are verra verra clear of who's in charge of the lamb - and its distribution.

Handsome,

I cried when I read your post. I was born in 1950 also, long way from Kentucky in Europe, Austria, but we also had lots of dogs because my father adored them as did his father and grandfather before him.

One day I'll write about our relatives of your own Whitey but for now I want to wish you and your family -- and everyone else here! -- a very very happy 2006 Smile
