tek's hitting is almost non-existent, and now the catching skills are beginning to erode.
he's still the best signal-caller in the business, and will make a great pitching coach someday.
the john farrell going to cleveland rumor has cropped up again, so mebbee it's time for him to hang 'em up?

victor is the starter now.
kotteras should be the back up next year.

it's obvious the sawx are waving the white towel and playing out the string.
they rested a bunch of starters yesterday against cc, basically conceding the game.
nothing to play for -- they have the wild card...

oh yeah, almost forgot...
dice pitched great!

assuming lester's quad is ok, they have their 4 starters ready for the play-offs --
beckett, lester, buchholz, dice.
byrd and/or wakefield as long relief.
they may have to drop someone (delcarmen?) from the 'pen...

I think we'll be treated to some spring training games.
Can't tell the players without a program.

so we staggered into the play-offs this year... so what?
doesn't matter how you get there, as long as you get there.

that being said... we better start playing better, starting tonight!

@Stormwatch,

i'm all for resting the starters and watching pitch counts this time of year, but 38,000 + millions watching on tv were ripped off last night!
that was pathetic -- it looked like the blue jays knew what pitches they were going to get.

i fully expect them to play better when it counts next week, but this string of shoddy play is hard to swallow...

@George,

pretty friggin' sad when your 4th outfielder is playing 3rd, and your 3rd catcher is pitching...

@Region Philbis,
Do you know how many games the Red Sox have left of this all too long season?

I can't imagine that they're going to thrive in the post season if they enter it on a major butt first slide. [sigh]

I hope they can get their act together before they get swept out of the playoffs in the first round.

@tsarstepan,

much more betterer showing last night.
lester's leg is fine.

tito's having trouble finding a back-up shortstop, and half the bullpen is in a slump, but all in all... i think we're ready...

aw shucks... Mr. Green

another good dice outing last night.
the brass has a tough call -- who pitches after lester & beckett, dice or buchholz?
dice has playoff experience... buchholz has more starts... tough call.

the Nomah Shortstop Curse continues -- hope gonzo's hand is ok...

@Region Philbis,
They need to win these last two games against the Indians in order to take a positive momentum into the playoffs. This past week was depressing.

@tsarstepan,
They looked good tonight. Beckett had a bit of a shaky start but got it together nicely.
Martinez's grand slam was sweet! Perhaps a little bittersweet for him.

Gonzalez's x-rays are negative...phewwww

We are ready!!!!!
