I sympathize. I got old knees that hurt just watching.
Really, isn't Youk a better play for the 3 games?
Just curious what you homers think.

i think francona will mix things up a little -- rest lowell and play youk at third, or maybe just save papi for late-inning pinch-hitting...

I doubt that he sits Lowell. But we (non-sox) can hope.

I agree. It looks like Youkilis or Ortiz at first to me.
And as much as I like Papi, I'd go with Youk. Youk's offense right now is
comparable, and his defense is way better.

It's scary how wise you are. You should play fantasy baseball.

Ortiz on first base is a big mistake. Not only is he over weight, but his knees are in bad, bad shape.
Yes, he can hit...but will he?

no.
they keep talking about how the atmosphere effects off-speed pitches.
will be intersting to see how true that is...

papi is a decent first baseman.
he takes pride in all aspects of the game -- including bunting & base-stealing Rolling Eyes

4 hours to go -- i am rested and ready, bro!

How fast can ortiz move and how will the low O2 tension affect his breathing at his heavy weight?

Big Breaking pitches refuse to break at altitude.
Did not matter, big bats do wonders for ones morale.
I concede.
Bosox is clearly the best TEAM in the league this year.
Congratulations to the Carmine Crew.

The Diceman Hitteth!

he helped himself with 2-run single that proved to be the difference in a 10-5 game.

in a game that took a record 4 hrs 19 min's to play, the real story was the production of the rookie table setters ellsbury & pedroia.
they were a combined 7 for 10, with 4 doubles, 3 runs, and 4 rbi.

our bullpen was shaky, but the offense picked them up, turning a 6-5 game into a romp.

to their credit, the rockies made some loud outs -- most of which would've been homers at fenway.

but the sawx did all the little things right, and later tonight another rookie (jon lester) gets a chance to shine on the big stage...

We got home from dinner and a play. I turned the set on. There was a pitching change for the Sox.

Hideki Okajima threw his first pitch. 3-run home for the Rox.

Shist, I've jinxed them I said. I turned the set off.

Went to bed.

Thank you.

We wore our lucky hats. So far they're undefeated when we wear our lucky hats.
