The letter
It all started after I built a front yard sculpture show called Waiting for Godot. The show was a simple set. It was composed of an old chair and table made out of tree branches some years ago. It was surrounded by several stones all chosen for their mysterious appearance and they formed a stone henge of sorts. On the chair seat grew moss & ferns , I had brought from the forest and hanging from the tree branches above several fish floating in midair from thin black thread. A few colorful dinosaurs and real looking silk flowers complete the scene.
The city engineers came by yesterday and tore a coffin size hole in the ground to repair a pipe 6 feet under. They extracted mountains of earth and corridored the whole street off with red danger tape. This all happened 2 feet from my Garden and the work crews like most people found the site immediately attractive as do small children and many others.
Today they come back to fill the hole and repair the sidewalk, now that the city inspector is here to make sure it's properly done. The Inspector has been here before , at the start ,and gives a glance over to the table and chair.
He sees what he thinks is a work order or something and takes the paper from the table. He immediately realizes it's not paper and not like anything he has ever seen before. There is also something inscribed on the paper..........
What happens next ?
Old Pirates sell corn for a Buck an Ear.
Godot arrives, on cue, and ready for the show.
<jespah arrives and moves this topic to Original Writing, thereby reviving it :-D>
