I went with straw, cause I wear a straw hat.

I prefer a standard Stetson, but I'm such a hot natured person that I tend to be miserable in one, I wear these straw ones all thru the winter, only on the coldest days will I resort to a baseball cap.

With the Chasidic, those aren't braids; they're called pais (rhymes with dais) and are not braided. They're more like the sausage curl pigtails that Cindy Brady wore but made from the hair at the temples rather than the base of the scalp.

I'll go with a turban, but only right after a shower.

I would never have thought that Godwin's Law would be invoked on page two of a thread about hats ! ! !

I always liked the hats that old Korean dudes wore--but i don't know that it had religious significance. The old dudes i saw wearing this hat usually seemed to be whacked out on opium, and sometimes actually went down the road with a big ol' pipe in their mouths.
