No, sadly for some of you, this was not from my trip to the range.
Looks like French military training to me.
A bore sighter works one of two ways, either in the chamber, or plugged into the end of the barrel. In this case, someone fired the gun with the sighter still in the end of the barrel. It's a great sales pitch for the chambered version...
I just read up on it.
...Follow the directions that came with your scope for how to access these adjustments and what tool to use (i.e.. screwdriver, etc.) to make this adjustment. Proceed to adjust your scope right, left, up, or down until the cross hairs match. Remove the bore sighter from the muzzle! Make sure you have removed the bore sighter from the end of the muzzle!! Load one cartridge into the chamber and close the breech.
Now I see why they mentioned it twice.
Wouldn't such a gun work for killing birds, deer, and angleworms simultaneously?
By the way my buddy brought his Marlin 4570 up to my place in MI a couple weeks ago, now that is a cool gun. I might have to join him the next time he goes boar hunting.
