CMS

I prefer to make my own. But when I choose others it really depends on the purpose.

I like mediawiki for wikis.

I like wordpress for blogs.

I like phpBB for forums.

And I don't like any all-in-one CMS/Portal/Forum disaster like phpnuke et al. They try to be all things to everyone and end up being less than ideal for all but a select few.
