The crowd did go mental. Personally I'm more concerned about the League Cup clash against the Scousers tomorrow night.

You were right to be concerned.

@lmur,
It least we've not lost by that big a margin in the league.

Can someone explain the recent explosion in goals from Liverpool? They were having trouble getting 1 in most games until they changed the manager. What the hell happened?

Not really. I just haven't had much time free for watching football lately. All I really have time for, in football as in tennis, are the scorelines and tables. I hardly have time for that.

@Kolyo,
Because people have been taking the piss, admittedly not any where I live, but the piss has been taken.

@Walter Hinteler,

The post-match interviewer tried to draw Mark Hughes on the satisfaction of beating Manchester City, but he was too canny to answer it.
But we all knew!

@McTag,

City win by two goals at Wolfsburg, and United lose and are dumped out of the competition, so a satisfactory night, I'd say.

@McTag,
Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic (locally then still called Boscombe FC) was the first professional football team I saw in England, back in the 60's, 3rd division, versus Exeter. Watched them today on tv. Wink

Does anyone else feel they've been on a bit of a roller coaster with Tyson Fury? In a week I've gone from being unaware of his existence, to joy at his winning the title to despair at his homophobia followed by uncertainty over whether he should remain a contender for BBC sports personality of the year.
