@Lordyaswas,
True. But England/Scotland/Wales/Northern Ireland are no members of the Olympic Committee ... "Team GB" doesn't play now in Canada
...

England Women beat Norway Women 2-1 last night, and go through to the Quarter Finals. They will play Canada, just after midnight British time on Saturday night/early Sunday morning.

This is already the best finish for a World Cup team from England since 2006.
If they beat Canada, it will be the best finish since 1990.

I can see women's football really taking off in England like nowhere else in the world if the national team keep outperforming the men.
I have a hunch the English will cheer for anything on two legs that can win trophies.

@Kolyo,
Not just two legs, koiyo.

When our scientists invented the horse, back in 1825, they made sure that they were big enough to carry the small human that they had invented the year before, and hey presto! Horse racing was born!

@Lordyaswas,
That's nothing! In 438, Thennissoboald, the greenkeeper of Wimblodian FC, boiled the football three minutes to long.
They stopped from that time playing football and opened the greens for what is now called "The Championships, Wimbledon". (And Milton Keynes was founded at that time as well.)

right, because the fact that you are not posting in a relevant thread cant have anything to do with it Drunk

I personally have started at least two that are better suited. Wake up and smell the coffee asshole, you are embarrassing yourself.

@hawkeye10,
Please explain yourself.

"been through here again"

"here" is here, ie The British Thread. This thread.

I am British. This is the British thread. I was posting in response to what had recently occurred on The British Thread. What is not clear?

Well, moron?

Maybe you should confine your redneck remarks to an American thread, where they may possibly understand what you are trying to say.

the relevance is the subject, not the speaker. You should be posting in a greece thread, or maybe a Eu or Eurozone, or global economics thread.

Things that make you go HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. The stupidity of my peers should have me bald by now.

@hawkeye10,

International topics are what Brits like. We used to control the world, and some of us think we still do. Our mental scope, and our arrogance, is absolutely amazing

As a dual US-UK citizen I had mixed feelings about England's recent win over Norway.

I think every red-blooded American male whose mom gets games in hi-def was a little sad to see Norway go. Sad
