(British) Nursery staff to be forced to report toddlers at risk of becoming terrorists
Source: The Independent (UK)

Nursery staff will be forced to report toddlers at risk of becoming terrorists under plans drawn up by the Home Office.

It is part of the department’s consultation over ways to enhance its anti-terrorism strategy, Prevent.

Critics have dismissed the proposals as being unnecessarily draconian and turning staff, who are meant to be caring for youngsters, into spies.

@Walter Hinteler,

This is weird....she must still have had the pilot on board. Apparently she skirted the shoal then turned back onto it. Mechanical malfunction?
The insurance boys will be busy.

@McTag,

The Bramble Bank is relatively well known.

@McTag,

Ingar Skiaker, CEO of Hoegh Autoliners which owns the vessel, said ...

"Our vessel developed a severe list shortly after she left port and the pilot and the master took the decision to save the vessel and its crew by grounding her on the bank. This showed great skill and seamanship on behalf of our crew when faced with such challenging circumstances.
"At this stage it is too early to speculate on the cause of the list but we are starting an immediate investigation.

@Walter Hinteler,

Yes, that's what we saw on this evening's BBC News.
Very strange, for such a modern vessel to behave like that. It can't be another "Spirit of Free Enterprise" problem, surely, with water getting onto the car deck. Maybe the cargo shifted. But the sea conditions were good, and the wind speed low. Design?

@McTag,

They were heading for Germany, with a part load of machinery and vehicles for the Middle East.
Maybe the ballast tanks were in imbalance.

@McTag,
Theories include some of its cargo coming loose, an issue with the ship's fuel or ballast or problems with its rudder.
(The cargo is 1,400 cars - among them1,200 Jaguars and Land Rovers, and 65 BMW's Mini's - and more than 100 pieces of industrial and construction equipment including stone crushers and JCB diggers .)

@Walter Hinteler,

I say, the ballast tanks. I hope they chained that machinery down enough.

@McTag,
Engineers believe a JCB digger caused a hole and leak on the sixth deck, which has been fixed by now.

@Walter Hinteler,

Okay the ship's off the sandbank now, still leaning over a bit.
I think they were lucky there. Bad weather expected soon.

@izzythepush,

ManU lost at home? The BBC said they did not have one shot on target the whole match. Astounding.
Where is David Moyes when you need him?
Fair play to Everton also, who deserved to get a point off City yesterday

He's managing David (Real Sociedad) in beating Goliath (Barcelona).

@InfraBlue,

Apparently Louis van Gaal's record managing ManU up to the present number of matches is exactly the same as David Moyes' was.
And the Dutchman has added Falcao and di Maria.
