I hear Edinburgh is the gay capital of Europe!

All Sunday children live there ...
Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child must work for a living,
But the child that's born on the Sabbath day,
Is fair and wise and good and gay.

@Romeo Fabulini,

I read somewhere that a German poll expressed the opinion that England had a good chance of winning the competition. Wouldn't that be nice?

England have already bin there, dun that- "Two world wars and one world cup!".
The Scottish glory days are long gone since Celtic won the European Cup in 1967, and since then no Scottish club has won it, but English clubs have won it 12 times..Smile

At one point Englishman Paul Gascoigne went to Rangers to show the soft cissy jocks how to play football-
WIKI- "Gascoigne signed for Rangers in July 1995, Rangers went on to win the league in the 1995–96 season, Gascoigne scored a hat-trick during the game. Rangers won the double as they also lifted the Scottish Cup He scored 19 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions, and was named as both PFA Scotland Players' Player of the Year and SFWA Footballer of the Year"

Yeah, and incidentally some Welsh want to break away from England too, that suits us because the Welsh are a bunch of nancy-boys like the jocks; for example Henry V was born in Wales and although he went on to make a name for himself when he moved to England, the welshness was still in him like when he said "our gayness and our gilt are all besmirched with rainy marching in the painful field" Henry V, Act 4 sc 3)

And although the taffs later put up a good show against the Zulus, the two English officers in charge had to show them how to do it..Smile

The other inhabitants of these islands will eagerly follow the progress of our representatives, the English soccer squad, as they go forward in the competition in Brazil.
We wish them well.

The Guardian (Simon Preston) this morning thinks the FA should pull out of FIFA.
Which would only leave IF.
Makes ya fink, dunnit?

Hahahahaha..Smile
These are the final 2014 World Cup qualifying rankings where Scotland and Wales both failed to qualify against the likes of little Belgium and backward Croatia!-
Belgium
Croatia
Serbia
Scotland
Wales
Macedonia

And Ireland and Northern Ireland also flopped in their groups, whereas England topped their group to qualify..Smile
No wonder me and most other Englishmen have started to always call ourselves English instead of British to let the world know we're nothing to do with the jocks, taffs and paddies, and we hope the jocks DO vote for independence to make them even more separate from England..Smile

@Romeo Fabulini,
Belgium are a bloody good team, 11th in World rankings, and Croatia knocked England out of Euro 2008 after beating them 3-2.

Haven't you got anything better to do other than stirring up animosity? You must really hate Jesus to consistently do the exact opposite of what he taught.

@McTag,
I don't think we should play in countries like Brazil. Doing so provides such regimes with a modicum of respectability.

Belgium whupped Scotland, a team of girl guides could do that!
And Croatia got a fluke result that's all..Smile

Anyway the jocks started the trouble by all their talk of wanting to break away from England as if we're not good enough for them!
Like I said before, everything hinges on whether they DO vote to split away.
If they do split they're going to get serious hassle from the English Patriotic party supporters who'll go around telling the ones living in England to "F*** off back to Scotland you f***** scrounging immigrants"..Wink

FIFA is corrupt and rotten to the core; you can bet Brazil secretly slipped Blatter and his cronies big bucks to give them the tournament..

@Romeo Fabulini,
I know that you don't care about facts, but for others it might be interesting

@Romeo Fabulini,
If you were remotely patriotic you'd douse yourself in petrol and strike a light. It's the right thing to do on so many levels. It improves the gene pool, ensures visitors to this great country of ours don't think we consist of small minded bigots, and will give everyone on A2K (and Plymouth) a laugh.

One of the many notable examples of the projection of one's own faults onto others in these threads,

Hey Izzy you seem proud to say in your profile that you live in Southampton, the home of the Titanic!
What a monumental cockup that was, they used cheap inferior rivets, the rear funnel was a fake just for show, the captain kept going at high speed at night even though there was an iceberg alert, and there weren't enough lifeboats. Not much to be proud of there..

By contrast, the English sailed safely across in a small wooden ship centuries before..Smile

There was a functioning Spanish university in Mexico when the English first arrived.

@georgeob1,
The English left it to the Spanish to civilise Mexico while they set about civilising America.
If it wasn't for us English you'd still be living in wigwams, making funny whooping noises and scalping each other..Smile
The French went to set up trading outposts, the Spanish went to look for gold, but the English went to stay!

@Romeo Fabulini,
Actually, the Irish, Scots and German settlements here each significantly outnumbered the English. Moreover nearly all of those who came here (including the English) did so explicitly to escape British or other European rule.
