Doubtfull Steve doubtfull.
I forgot to mention there is a Prince Willy for Govenor General move happening here at present.
Over my dead body!
I dont mind the kid but he needs to earn his citizenship here first and that is never gonna happen
Steve 41oo wrote:you know this whole thing makes me so sad. I really am not a racist. And I really am not anti religious per se, although I am contantly amazed how some very intelligent people seem to loose all sense of proportion when it comes to religion.
What makes me so sad is that there are people out there who are racists and, racism being illegal, disguise their racism under a cloak of anti-Islamism. I think there are very sound reasons to be anti-Islamist, but of course I get attacked from the left as being anti Muslim and probably racist too.
A common problem: for years now, anti-zionists or those speaking against the worst excesses of the Israeli state have been falsely labelled anti-semites.
On the other hand: if such had happened a couple of years ago, everyone would have pointed at the gangster scene in the night club milieu ...
Now, such isn't even an idea - I do hope, nothing similar to the killing of the innocent Brasilian happens!
(However, since "City of London Police confirmed at 1700 BST (1600 GMT) that a stretch of Fleet Street was cordoned off between Fetter Lane and Ludgate Circus due to a suspicious vehicle." it really seems to be what was to be suspected.)
I saw an old interview with Mr New Broom in which he said he first wanted to be a football manager.
They go for glory whilst swilling champagne and associated debaucheries by getting the the lads to do their utmost,as enjoined by Mr N Broom's school motto which is seared on his brain, which means bed by 10pm, up early on the training ground straining every sinew and none of the usual activities and all on a strict diet, injections and ice baths, and accompanied by a lot of shouting and bad tempered impatience.
I heard in the pub last night that Broon, blind in one eye from an old rugby injury, has failing sight in the other. Poor chap.
Hey, the super-efficient London parking patrolmen apparently took the second car bomb from Cockspur Street and removed it to Park Lane, all unknowing.
I bet they're sweating.
(as a matter of fact, c.i., FionaB and I walked past that Park Lane pound one evening- I know it well)

3 very suspicious characters. Not surprised they found a bomb.
I think Mac should be awarded the Military Cross for having "walked past that Park Lane pound one evening ".
I don't think it merits a VC though. Sorry Mac.
Mr New Broon had retinal detachments in both eyes as a teenager and was blind. It was probably due to heading a sodden caseball too much.
He had a tough time and the surgeons, to whom retinal surgery was a difficult task in those days, managed to save the sight of one of his eyes. He had to keep dead still in a darkened room for a period of months and that provided him with the opportunity to think everything through and know what to do in almost all circumstances.
Modern retinal surgery is much more advanced now and the Manchester Eye Hospital is a world centre of excellence in that regard as I know from experience having had a retinal detachment in one eye possibly due to over exhuberant tit slapping in my middle years ( I wouldn't have put up with it in my prime) which was fixed in a comparative jiffy.
It would be consistent with improving the NHS if they would move it nearer to Oxford St station and put some salt in the omlettes.
The bus services between Oxford Road Station and the MRI are second to none, Spendy, what are you complaining about?
Hey I understand why places flood in heavy rain, but not why water in towns and villages hangs about for days when it's not raining. Why haven't they cleared the drains quicker?
There was a piece on the news this morning which suggested that modern farming methods (removal of hedgerows, ploughing of ditches, improved field drainage) have got a lot to do with overland flooding. Worth looking into.
Isn't it the overconcreting of the urban environment that leads to problems? You should know, Mac, you are part of the Drain Brain.
There are thousands of expensively trained and equipt experts Mac who have been looking into it for many years.
I hardly think they need any advice from the likes of you.
Those were freak weather conditions and if we take account of such conditions nationwide the expense would be a lot more than the cost of a local clean up every now and again.
If you want to look into something I would advise you start with your expertise in the economics of the infrastructure and your evident need to pontificate about matters media has brought to your attention.
The problem with the bus service up Oxford Rd is that one finds oneself cheek by jowl with the citizenry of Manchester and after one try at it I preferred to walk.
Oi..Oink, you've been spending a lot of time in Manchester haven't you?
What the hell is wrong with using your bloody Bradford bus's and one of those eye hospitals in Yorkshire, do they have one?
If you come sponging off us again, fetch your brush and shovel and do a bit of cleaning up on Oxford Street.
Cheeky pillock.

I thank you for your sage advices. I will store this gem with the experiences of forty years in the civil engineering profession and the drainage industry from which I have just retired, and no doubt temper my opinions accordingly.

If you think that's bad, you should try travelling down Stockport Road (A6) on the 192
The 192
Thats a friendly number. It used to take me home as a boy.
I would like to meet that bus again. I bet my chewing gum is still there.
Ehem, no, they found it ...

Burning asian men pulled from the car. No problems with ID then.
I'm going up to Holmfirth toneet, for a piss-up, er, wedding reception.
They might be tied in with the London lot, if they are, we can probably expect numerous arrests over the next few days, it could be a wide spread effort this lot.
Some people think the threads are mad! It's out there where the real loonies are!
Have a nice night Mac.
