At first came the Saxons and the Angles, then the Saxon-Coburg-Gothas, the Hannovers, the Deutsche Post, the Deutsche Bahn, the Hintelers ...

So, the Queen is travelling now Deutsche Bahn ...

They could make a lot of money pulling the royal train round Germany, full of paying guests, when the Queen wasn't needing it.

Cool

Quite the reverse Tarah, as many people will testify Laughing

sorry for my interjection re bombs...quite unnecessary

Walter the only problem with renting the Royal Train out to trundle around Germany, is what happens if Her Majesty suddenly wants to go from London to Balmoral, and the train is rented to very wealthy people living near (say) Lippstadt? We cant have her walking up and down platform 12 at Euston looking for a seat like Tony Blair had to yesterday. You can rent the train, by all means but it will have to stay over here. Just in case. Very Happy

now they've just defused a bomb found in the Haymarket (near Piccadilly)

Not much detail...so let me fill it in

Its another islamist attack that has been intercepted

Designed to cause massive loss of life

probably others planted in other parts of the city

Its not IRA Real IRA INLA IRSP (military wing) or renegade Ba'athists.

These are Allah's bombs. I have no problem with citizens professing other than the state established religion. But I do have a problem with religious fanatics who see their duty to Allah as over-riding the welfare of fellow citizens. Ulitmately Islam is the enemy. It should be proscribed in the UK.

Do you KNOW OFFICIALLY that this is an Islamic bomb Steve and that others are planted throughout the city?

This is a very strange bomb attempt.

Seemingly the Merc was seen driving erratically in central London, was abandoned, and the driver did a runner.

Pretty half-arsed. Presumably the 72 virgins could wait.

Aparantly GB can be the life and soul of the party...in private. But obviously not the labour party.

So it was either a "rather big bomb" or a "small device".

But gas cylinders, nails, a Mercedes (German, that's why I post this!), an accident with arubbish and a running away person - well, since Steve is so sure, might be.

you know this whole thing makes me so sad. I really am not a racist. And I really am not anti religious per se, although I am contantly amazed how some very intelligent people seem to loose all sense of proportion when it comes to religion.

What makes me so sad is that there are people out there who are racists and, racism being illegal, disguise their racism under a cloak of anti-Islamism. I think there are very sound reasons to be anti-Islamist, but of course I get attacked from the left as being anti Muslim and probably racist too.

I agree Steve. I've been invited for the second year to chair the AGM of a local Muslim group and entertain them (hopefully!) with some of my poetry. They're fully aware that I'm Jewish and we get on famously.

Great. Good luck and thanks, made me feel a little less depressed.

Dadpad...I was impressed with the photo and nearly said "hey if I'm not mistaken that's DP's brother in law on his Ducati 999"

(will he let me have a go? )

So I wasn't the only one who didn't get Cadwell Park at once.
