You're certainly aware, smorgs, that George is just one of those loud, boorish, nationalistic Americans in a Hawaii shirt who are ignorant of your high standing local culture (only recently I've read that Bob Monkhouse worked there as well!) and judge everything by American standards, I hope!

@Walter Hinteler,
I don't wear Hawaiian shirts. It's far too cold for that here in northern California.

You are perhaps unaware George that smorgsie was educated in a convent school and in working men's clubs in northern England, where a spade is a spade and not spoon for dribbling syrup down the upper placket hole, and can therefore see a petitio principii bushwhacker from a further distance that an aircraft carrier's sonar can see a threatening discarded beer can pull top.

@spendius,
And I will extenuate my briefs, with your reverence's permission, and say that I might be considered one of the most perfect paragons of beauty, a finely made man and most genteel, generous with my pursestrings, courteous of carriage and, sitting here at the keyboard with my cigarette dangling loosely between my long and sensitive fingers in my crimson satin breeches, with such an air of careless modesty, as would place the heart in jeopardy, had my age and general decrepitude not stood in the way, of every virgin who shamelessly cast her eyes upon me from beneath her furiously fast waving fan.

@spendius,
I extenuated my briefs once...

That was my first experience of cider.

Mornin' all.

I'll attest to George being a nice guy, despite his obvious faults.

@smorgs,
As we are doing slang, "bread" means money. Thus it is the staff of life.

Anyone else remember this?

I remember my Dad having this, must be 65/65, he could do the whistle. He was a docker and used to bring 45's home. It reminds me of my Liverpool home more then Ferry Cross the Mersey.

@smorgs,
I love that Japanese song, smorgs. Reall miss satt fs. I had that melody stuck in my head so I sent a virtual piano keyboard with the notes of the melody in the key of C, and he knew it right away.

Nice to see you back, incidentally.
