@McTag,
I once tasted haggis at a Burns' Nite. It was absolutely the worst taste I ever knew. No wonder Scottish people have tight lips. I did swallow any: obviously.

Did you see "It's Nicer Up North" Mac? Sky Arts had it on again the other day.

Enough. At least enough to prove that a young Westphalian can be polite.
(And it must have been alright since no-one used his claymore.)

@Walter Hinteler,

I bought a small McSween's haggis yesterday (serves 2-3) and we'll have it tomorrow. Looking forward to that immensely.

Big match at Old Trafford tonight. I miss Steve 41oo at times like this.

Ideal situation? United score first, levelling the tie on aggregate and getting their supporters all cocky and objectionable, then City score three or four without reply.

Whatever the outcome, there will be violence I fear. Let's hope it's minimal.

You have to remember Mac that a bit of violence is the justification for a lot of police overtime and useful for media and the legal profession.

I find that hard to believe.

Did you get the unique microwaveable pack?

@Ticomaya,

No.

But we're not having it tonight, I dined alone. We'll have it tomorrow, to celebrate Man City's victory.

@Ticomaya,
It's not easy being a Scot. To maintainn their status, Irismen need only have a few pints, laugh and tell jojes about Scots.

Scots. have to be dour and eat Haggis.

@McTag,
Tough luck Mac. It was a great cup-tie.

I'm a City fan myself. I like their pale blue colours. One of my girl friends had lingerie exactly that shade. She used it when we played Blind Man's Buff.

You could use the defeat as an excuse to miss out the haggis.

Well, I still have my haggis to look forward to.

Did you notice the green and yellow Newton Heath colours? Not the haggis, the football match. That section was where most of the missiles were coming from, too.

I have to admit judging from the MoTD highlights, United shaded it on pressure, but Ferdinand could have been sent off early.
And if I have to see any more pictures of Sralex chewing gum, I think I will throw up.

@McTag,
Mr Blair in the hot seat tomorrow Mac. A must see. Live--well--one minute behind-- and uninterrupted except for biological considerations. All day.

Hear the other side.

@spendius,

Blair misled Parliament, and I believe he did so knowingly and deliberately.

MPs of all stripes should be ashamed. Our parliament failed to do its job, failing to subject the executive to the faintest of checks.
Despite this, Blair should be held accountable for a treasonous act (which still carries the death penalty, I believe). In the court of public opinion, he is guilty.
In the court of McTag, he would be put to death after evisceration.

Which reminds me of my haggis, consumed this evening. It was lovely.

@McTag,
Your court is a kangeroo one Mac.

I only asked you to listen to his defence under very close examination.

The closest there is in public. Why do you stop short of calling for the punishment of the MPs and senior civil servants?

@georgeob1,
I'm much too civilised for that George. I think Mac just read one-sided reports.

One might think though that anyone up for the evisceration of Mr Blair would be up for accepting that military deaths are useful for military budgets and that there's plenty more where they came from. The taxpayer would not put up with the Bilkoisation of the military for very long I don't think.

It has come out in the Chilcot enquiry that the military were "enthusiastic" providing it was legal and that the decision of the USSC to award the presidency to Mr Bush was a significant factor in the causes of the war. It has also emerged that regime change in Iraq was a Clinton policy and that not doing very much about it was likely to have been Mr Gore's attitude.

Then 9/11 took place. Which could, theoretically, have included biological weapons of mass destruction.

@spendius,

Weapons of mass destruction? Iran has weapons of mass destruction, and is more likely to use them on the rest of us than Saddam was. If he had any, which he hadn't. Iran however has not been invaded.

No, Iraq was invaded because it was weak, weakened by wars and sanctions, and possessing a lot of oil.

@McTag,
What did you think about the dramatic reduction in the deaths of Iraqi children under 5 between 2002 and now? Which makes everyone who died heroic rather that being a victim.
