Come on Steve. That trick had obviously been perfected in training. It was a sucker punch.
Actually Steve didnt write that, I believe I quoted from the BBC.

No matter it was a goal. Illegitimate, just as Milan's presense in the competition was illegitimate. And yes Mathos for once I did want the scallies to win, though the behaviour of the scally army depressingly lived up to reputation.

and whilst I'm on the subject I'm sure you know that next year Liverpool is the European city of Culture.

You get back to your car...it has no wheels...but jacked up on books.

Terrible when fans had travelled from all over the world, paying thousands of pounds, having genuine tickets, could not get into the ground because too many with forged tickets were already inside....got a bit irate as you would, tried to make their point of view known and the police drove them back with tear gas and truncheons.

Bad karma.

Bad organisation.

Yes. It could have been much much worse. I heard stories about them snatching tickets out of other fans hands. Fighting over a spare ticket. Getting in for nowt, sitting in the isle and claiming they did "nuttin wrong, well not me anyhow". And the guy from EUFA admitted they did not make a big enough ticket allocation, but pointed out stadiums with 250,000 capacity dont exist.

I dunno its very sad. I genuinely like Liverpool and scousers but really they have to start acting responsibly.

Er....forged tickets? Wasn't that the main problem? If you buy a forged ticket in good faith, how is that acting irresponsibly?

Well you are right. But if you buy a ticket for less than the face value from a bloke your mate recommended in the pub...I dont believe they are that naive.

They try and blag their way in. Arriving late in numbers...police and stewards are overwhelmed. Its the red army against the thin blue/greek line. IMHO

You don't really like them, do you? The holders of the genuine tickets were outside the ground in this case. The others were inside.

Actually you'reght of course. It's a tactic.

It's not PC to say so, but in my opinion that's what went so wrong at Hillsborough. They killed their own by doing just that. But no spokesman will admit that.

Well I do, or rather I would, had last night not been another potential Hillsborough or Heysel. The Greek police were no doubt pathetic, but really should you expect to have to martial a happy football crowd as if they were pow's?

Sheesh!!!

It's as if you guys have no handle whatsoever on human nature. That you can't stop yourselves from thinking it ought to be exactly like you want it to be and when it isn't you run to Mamma and cringe and weep and wring your little hands and call on the law to support you.

It's pathetic.

Can't you do orphans? At least that's a worthy cause.

the eagle has landed. Got a call this morning (thurs) to say she arrived at Heathrow an hour late after delays at Hong kong, (thanks a lot BA) which stuffed up the connecting bus/train to London then up north. But she sorted it all out herself.

What, me worry?

Apparently you cant book and pay for a rail ticket in Doncaster and have it picked up at Heathrow. Reason because of fraud. how can it be fraud if its already paid for. Nearly caused world war three (security guards were called). My BIL is a big bloke and not easily dissuaded.

Well what would you do to prevent trouble in a potentially dangerous situation?

You'd better explain your notion of danger sunshine!

I've seen people afraid to stand on a window sill of a fifteen or twenty story building, they say that's dangerous!

Other people won't ride a motorcycle at well over 100 mph, they say it's dangerous.

Have you ever crossed a mine field?

Now I reckon that's dangerous.

Enlighten me!

well oh depression sweeping in from the west, I've been carried along in a crush with my feet off the ground outside Old Trafford, and ridden a motorcycle at well over 100 mph. The former was far more dangerous.

Depressions from the west eh! Wow! that's a brave one to face. Everybody who has been to Old Trafford has experienced the carry chair mate! What about being shot at or going turtle in a saloon car at a ton plus on the M6 after you clipped an eight legger that careered across the front of you without warning?

Hey- read about Mr Holly and Leo Vincey hanging off the cliff face in Ayesha. Or when the Khan put aniseed on their horses hooves.

With no emergency services coming ever.

If you're going to make that stuff up try to do a little better than 100 year old run-of-the-mill hair-raisers.

I thought trouble was the name of the game. You could always go to the Bring and Buy Sale at the Village Hall.

Don't the oversees cops start it off if the boys are too docile. Rake a few fines in.
