I am back hello.

Let joy be unconfined.

Anyone see Paul Whitehouse doing Jose Mourino on the Harry Enfield/PW comedy sketch show on TV?

He's got him down. Whitehouse is a genius.

Aber natuerlich, mit grossen Vergnuegen.

We are having some Aussies to stay in June, but later than mid I think. Should not be a problem. We can think of somewhere nice to go.

Should I be flattered to be called a Gross Vergnuegneugnu? Not averse to Aussies, we can have a large table at that garden centre.

All well with me, thanks. I've been spending more time in Munich than Prague, recently - usually a lovely city but today it's cold, grey and wet!

Anyway, life if fine and dandy. Returning to London as home base in July...and moving in with my girlfriend there, which is exiciting but a bit scary. We're both in our mid-30s so it's not "just for fun"...so I really hope it works out when we're living in the same country.

Hope all's well in the SW (and oop North, for all of you for whom "bath" rhymes with "daff"!) Very Happy

KP

I've heard that the mid-30 period is a bit scary. Some time to go until I'll know about that ...

It's about the same here - slightly different view, though.

but then, where I live is much worse I'm sure.

That's Munich. (You're the first I've heard to call it horrible.)
Pete was there when he posted.

It looked horrible to me too. I hate cities. All that hot fat smell and those loose women. It scares me rotten.

I love the decadence and squalor of major cities. I generally try to locate the seediest sections when entering major cities and began to prepare for my visit.

Some bike competition here now. English Brompton is marvellous but German Kettler is a proper bike.

Brompton has a tendency to steer in a pub wise direction.

But as I was told, not as bad as the Kettler which goes eastwards into Poland. (Most unfair but quite funny)

Are those funny bikes any good Steve?

I'm a Holdsworth man myself, but they are like collectors items now!

Well the Brompton is the best thing I bought for years. Its beautifully engineered, rides like a full sized bike but you can fold it up and put it in your pocket when you go on the train.

My only criticism is that having small wheels you dont get the same gyroscopic stabilisation so its a bit sensitive. Not the sort of bike to ride no handed eating a kebab.

The Kettler only arrived yesterday. Its light (ish) for its size definitely a good touring bike, but the 2456 derailleur gears take a little gettting used to.

Eastward is okay ... from us south-south-westwards, though, and only 35 km ...

I've got a Peugeot city bike and it's great, with built-in lighting, carrier, stand, aluminium tubing, and the lock and pump were fitted as standard. Marvellous- you can't beat a city bike for city use. And mudguards are a must of course. And don't forget the gyroscopic stabilisation.
