@Francis,

Hey where, Francis, you naughty French chap, you?

Where the heck have you been?

I'm going into Manchester today to deliver a Bakewell pudding and get a curry.

@McTag,
I've been around the Liffey River.

While being there, greet the Mancunians we know...

@Francis,
morning all

especially McPud

and Walter and Francis and Izzie...

and of course Spendius.

Food and drink...Bakewell puddings built the empire. And powered British mountaineers to greater heights.

And what does Walter drink? Why two tonic waters of course. (Teutonic water....Smile)

@Francis,
SS Teutonic was a British Auxiliary Armed Cruiser, btw. But WE scrapped her.

@Francis,
I've been mentioned in today's paper:

But I really didn't spend much: just £5 for some fudges.

@Walter Hinteler,
Okay, it didn't rain inside. So it was some good choice to go there this weekend.

And the music wasn't only good but played live.

(I didn't wait to watch the singer, and missed the fashion show as well.)

But what me really had wanted to watch: this paramedic cycling through the crowds ...

Enough of this coy-Christian tweeting.

Did you see the drunken women fighting in the street in the "show 'em 'ow it's done" programme sandwiched between the two episodes of Corrie spiced with ads for comfy sofas and money-lending?

@spendius,

I haven't seen one complete episode of Corrie since Ena Sharples' day, I think.

Who are you calling christian anyway, Spendy?

Good morning all. I like Rabbi Lionel Blue, with his cheery greetings.

@McTag,
I think the Scots Nats have had a scare Mac. They have looked into the black hole where the Bank of England had been evicted. They should stick to golf course development.

@spendius,
I know you are all suffering from the hammer blows about the credit crunch so I thought it worthwhile to inform you that the ads break in Coronation Street tonight didn't exhaust the possibilities of self indulgence with the comfy sofa routine. They had a yoghurt that you could eat even when you were bloated with the previous courses.

@spendius,

My sofa's not very comfy. It's a bit small and I think I've worn it out.
Still, it's all I've got for watching the rugby from today.

I think Erin fancies Austin, what do you think?

@McTag,
Fancy a man of your experience and breeding not having a comy sofa. That's incredible Mac. I won't ever trust your wisdom and judgment again. The only excuse for it is being skint and what with your recent trip to the Wild-West we can hardly think you are in that condition.

Get down to the auction house. You can get beauties for £50. If you leave them outside on a windy day it blows all the old farts clean out of them.

@spendius,

That's exactly what my sofa needs, Spendy. You're on to something there.

Don't fancy a secondhand one, though. You just never know, do you. If there was more space in the TV room, no problemo, I could get a really sinful one.

Actually when I've got serious TV to watch I can push my comfy chair across.
Sybaritic arrangements R us.

@McTag,
There's no such thing as a comfy chair Mac. A 4-decker sofa with cushions is what you want. At about 60 degrees to the TV. Maybe less if she will allow.
