Chris Hoy.

I never liked track cycling much before today, although I once saw Reg Harris at Fallowfield.
Now I like it, except the madison.

Okay I've fixed up our new alarm system, and I'm off up to the shops. Walking, because it's good for me.

@McTag,
Look Mac-- get something straight. It is not our athletes. It is the money that Labour have poured into sport.

You don't really think we Brits are superior as such do you? What about Mexico?

The Communist bloc did the same 30 or 40 years ago. Did you ever read about the methods they used?

The white Americans are not looking so good eh? And there's about 200 million of them.

@spendius,

But aren't they all either fat or very fat?

And, you've forgotten all about Alf Tupper, the Tough of the Track and Wilson, Champion of Champions.

Alf trained round the gasworks wall on fish and chips.
And Wilson never received any grant money.

@wandeljw,

Lord Ellpus and his various incarnations was. Seems likely.

BTW I don't care what people call themselves, but why not stick to just one?
Unless making mischief is the intention.

Cliches from the Olympics- Gabby was too fond of "half man, half dolphin" for Michael Pelps and now you hear to much about "eyeballs out" running.

Good morning.

Hey I noticed this morning that the British Thread had 0 votes. What a cheek.

Did anyone see Boris Johnson last night? Apparently related to the princes of Wurtemburg and King George II. Very entertaining.

There's been so much low cloud around here recently that it was a pleasure to bask in the moonshine on the way home from the pub.

Tomato growers must be frantic.

@spendius,

Yeah I noticed the moon on my way back from the pub last night too, Spendy.
Very splendid.

How romantic that we both saw it at the same time.

@McTag,
You've obviously never read The Romantic Agony by Mario Praz.
