The last British politician to wrap himself in the flag and spout about British justice and fair play was Jonathan Aitken.

It's an interesting one. I see Cameron is not pleased.

I don't know why the Lib Dems will not contest the seat. Why give him a clear run? I thought they were supposed to be rivals? Seems very odd to me, this.

Okay Clegg said since they agreed with his position, they were not going to contest it.
And Labour might not bother either, to deny him the oxygen of publicity, so this could be a real fizzler, just David Davis versus The Monster Raving Loonies.

I wouldn't if I was you Steve.

When you've worn them in with years of trial and error it's a bit dodgy starting "afresh". It could take years with a new starter for her to find out how much sugar you take in you tea.

And that's because she would have longer legs than the still-now-Mrs Steve? On the other hand, perhaps Steve would like that someone would make his tea, no matter how much sugar is in it ...

Absolutely. And now all is well on the sugar/tea/bike front.

After much fiddling, during which the saddle was lowered not one iota, the bike is now ok, especially the seat height. Regarding leg length and sugar, thats ok too, I'm quite content with both. Smile

ps did I say its a Kettler?

am doing my best to keep German economy buoyant in these difficult times.

Hi Steve, celebrating downunder, Holland - France 4 -1, another good win in my opinion for the boys in Orange. Well deserved.

Won versus the World Champion and the Vice World Champion.

(Unfortunately, the third from the world championship is due to drive home next week, I fear.)

It's great England not having qualified and being able to watch some super football without all that flag-waving hysteria from that section of the population who know nothing about football and care not a whit more and just want to be on the side that's winning.

Croatia look the most up for it to me so far. There's a few too many millionaires, who are a bit disgruntled about missing their summer holidays, in the big teams.

* On the News just now I saw a load of brussel's sprouts watching the Irish referendum result come through on the TV in their salubrious wine bar. They were smoking away like factory chimneys.

So they can smoke in the Palace of Westminster bars, where the expenses claims are sniggered over, and they can smoke in the centre of European government, where the expenses claims are sniggered over, and we can't smoke in our little pub and it's us who make it all possible.

There's two kinds of laws it seems.

Bollocks to the fags!

What about my Son In Law and his England Flags, his England Cups, Beer Mugs, Coasters, Ash Trays and ten grands worth of other paraphernalia lying in a stock room with Europe 2008 emblazoned all over everything?

Your like bloody Frank Spencer you are bone head!

Can't he just write it all off and put it down to experience. He could probably get a rebate on his tax allowances.

It's no bad thing to be reminded that backing losers is humiliating and that your degrees and diplomas are not worth a blow when serious money is in the frame.

And a trifling amount like an itsy-bitsy ten grand is not unlike having 20 pence each way on the Grand National favourite. Playing at it I mean.
