Can't find anything in the news about the strikes - it's national as well.

Quote:
Thousands of jobcentre and benefit office workers are launching a 48-hour strike in a row over pay amid signs of worsening unrest across the civil service.

Up to 80,000 staff at the Department for Work and Pensions are expected to take part in the industrial action, in protest at a below inflation pay offer.

G'day DP.

Come join me while I fight the good fight. Muckty will still be in bed, dreaming of porridge. I wonder if he dreams in tartan?

Puh-leeze. I do have technicolour dreams, though. And Cinemascope.

And funnily enough, I too will be going to B & Q for some emulsion paint this morning. A second coat has been deemed necessary by the Clerk of Works.

You could crucify them at the motorway intersections Mac.

That would sort it out quick.

Funny you should mention that. I think that for the worst crimes we need to make a stronger statement.

Hang them up with rusty wire, not round the neck because that would be too quick, and leave them up there to dry.
Seven days, tops, should see them off.
Bring the cadaver down after twelve months and compost it.

For lesser crimes, flogging and no medical attention afterwards- not on the NHS anyway.

That should ease the prison crowding problem.

This week in Liverpool, four women in a car pulled a cyclist off her bike and stabbed her to death, then drove away.

Social reports? Or the rusty wire solution?

The Sharia courts get a bad press here, but I think the system works quite well, and is quick.

I can think of a lot of people being detained at Her Majesty's pleasure, and the taxpayer's expense, who would benefit from a good beheading.

But I think my solution is better.

You can tell all right!

There will be a measurable increase in foot-fall in places like Ikea, Homebase, B & Q...

And an increase in petty street crime.

(Not that I'm linking the two).

"Dustin the Turkey" has been chosen by the Irish broadcaster RTÉ to represent Ireland in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with "They Can't Stop The Spring".
