Depends. If I hear a Scots accent protesting how under represented Scots are in the meeja....

Is this bloody wind going to stop?

No. The missus flies into Speke (!) around five and I hope the runway is aligned to the gale. Watch this space.

Scots......there was a bit of a laugh on Saturday Live when Muriel Gray (gallus besom) was on, and talking to another Scottish lass.

The following week they read out a complaint from somebody who objected to Fi Glover's programme being taken over by bloody Scots, or words very much to that effect.

Muriel fashioned a nice put-down, closing by saying that he should take his problem to the BBC Helpline, although that unfortunately was in the Gaelic.

Everything was fine at John Lennon Airport, except for the fact that they arrived at the same time as a planeload on Liverpool supporters coming back from Milan.
She said that to say they behaved like a crowd of animals would be a slur on the animals. They barged everyone out of their way and mobbed the passport control, going straight through without stopping.
Scousers, eh?

You would make a good traffic warden Mac.

They take retired goodie-goodies.

Or a lollipop man.

Are we in Europe or aren't we? Is passport control only kept up so that passport controllers don't have to be laid off?

Imagine passport control at train and bus stations as a job creation scheme.

Keeping out terrorists is not something they seem to be all that expert at I must say.

I've never been to Milan airport but I've been to the central railway station there, and it's a nightmare.

I imagine our passport control is to stop undesirables, who might have got on this flight in Milan, from proceeding further.
Unfortunately they were unsuccessful, and a whole planeful of Scousers got in.

Very Happy

To be fair, the authorities don't do themselves any favours by putting only two young girls on duty to handle a rowdy football crowd. These guys were never going to stand meekly by the barriers. They dismantled the barriers, actually, which were the tape kind. They need police with dogs, night-sticks, and guns.

The UK is in Europe (and in the EU ... since 1973, what many easily forget), but not a member of the Schengen Treaty ("borderless countries"): perhaps you don't trust others to control over who comes into the country then your own passport controllers?

Have already planned, btw, to join the stampede to the supermarkets this weekend (re. new tax increases on drinking)?

But, it is said, the tax increases are for the purpose of allieviating child poverty and stabilising the economy.

The more prosperus foreign owners of English clubs can buy more foreign football players than e.g. the 70,000 members of Schalke 04

Don't you just love Cheltenham?

Inglis Drever's stable girl stole the show from all those posh ladies.

Telly at it's best. It's what telly was invented for. Not all this other stuff that is generated inside TV companies for all sorts of reasons. A shot of humanity on its best behaviour. They might not be ladies and gentlemen the rest of the time, although I know a lot of them are, but they look good at this festival.

Steve- I'm backing Denman tomorrow. But if it rains all night I might not bother. It should be a great race though.

I've been to only one race meeting. It was at Haydock.
I didn't like it, but was amazed to see they had a competition for the Best Dressed Lady! Shocked Rolling Eyes

Some wags types were paraded, and were judged. It could have been Butlins, 1955.

Where are Mss Dworkin and Paglia when they are needed?

Apart from that, it were bobbins.

I might just risk a tenner. On Kauto Star...or maybe denman, depends on the going. Smile Agree with your comments re telly btw. Reality tv at its best, because thats what it is, real.
