Oh Mr Mac - you weren't a Shang-A-Lang lad then a? Smile

Hi Steve Smile

Would always send a hug to someone in need of a little TLC - but as we are talking "naughty bits" - well, will see if anyone else can step up to the mark! Shocked

(good for you cycling, mate)

Fnar fnar...

The Bay City Rollers were top.

However, I didn't wear Tartan, left that to my younger sister. They were 'big in Japan'. Wasn't one of them involved in some kind of under age sex scandal? Allegedly.

I'm off to the Gay City Rollers charidee night on Wednesday.

Well, they're not quite the same as Scots, but I agree their whiskey is better.

Walter might have been alluding to the fact that Scots whisky is spelled whisky, and Irish whisky is spelled whiskey.

Maybe the Americans got their bad spelling habits from the Irish.

Hey I went to the Bridgewater tonight to see the African Soul Rebels 2008 Tour, with Salif Keita headlining.
It was grand, and strangely at times I felt as if the music would have fitted right into the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow, very Scottish & Irish sounding, and at times it even had a country & western feel. One world.

I think if country bands toured Mali and Somalia, they would go down a bundle, especially with pedal steel guitar.
But they would prolly have to sharpen up on their drumming.
And not expect to be paid much.

Stop trying to pretend you're a virile young man Mac.

Take up bowling. There's widows awaiting and some of them are loaded.

Traduce your ego.

Ah, good morning, Spendy the Sour, aka Brainfart.

If I ever pretended to be anything, it was to be cross with you.

Ah, you Brits love to compliment one another, don't you? I miss Mathos, the master of the subtle stinging salutations. Oink, oink. Laughing

At first I wanted to post the story here.

But since I really didn't want to disturb the silence too much I've created an own thread about the real little Britain .... in France.

Did any of the acute observers of the passing scene notice that the Foreign Secretary's announcement admitting that US "rendition" flights had been refuelled on a British base was timed half-an-hour before the verdicts in the Ipswich murders trial and was thus buried under an avalanche of the most despicable and voyeuristic reporting I have ever seen. And is now long forgotten.

Or that some people who were caught thieving in the phone-in scams are still fronting up programmes some of which express moral outrage and indignation concerning high jinks on a Friday night in one carefully selected location involving a few scuffles and a plethora of police overtime often resulting in weeks off work on full pay as a result of strained back from wrestling a fork-truck driver into the back of a van.

Most coppers I've known, and it's a lot, see such events as the highlight of the week.

I oppose the motion.

They couldn't have been rubbish. That lot on at the pub last Sat were rubbish.

Not that I've heard of Deacon Blue mind you but they couldn't have been rubbish to get a recording deal and sell a lot of records and have you talking about them now could they?

I'm not saying they were any good either but I daresay that the very worst one might say about them is that they were not so bad.

That would seem a more civilised manner of describing the men concerned instead of snapping at them like a seagull does at a piece of--well--rubbish.

Prince is rubbish. He's not a Brit you see.

Not that I've heard about.

What's a meeting. A proximity of bodies or an amalgamation of mental states?

Have you read that book I told you to read yet?
