Was a lovely spring day here and an early finish from work. I also reduced my carbon stiletto print by walking home from work (I was knackered).
...I just heard the ice cream van - how 'springy' is that?

I cycled to pc world twice. Once to say my usb port was not working (try this sir...) and lo and behold it works, second to buy two new cartridges for my "new" Lexmark z65p printer (cost to me £3.50) cost of printer cartridges £53.75. But amazingly it WORKS.
Nice to hear from you Smorghisimus

We'll pay for it later, you mark my words.
Fabulous weather intit.
My daughter need accomodation in Grimsby (area) Lincolnshire for under 40 quid a night. 26 may for 1 night.
Someone without a curfew as she will be working until 2.00am breking down sets for the show she is working on.
Does anyone have any contacts or suggestions?
No too many Lincolnshire folks around here, dadpad.
They're probably out fishing or planting potatoes.
Pick another area.
Sets for a show? Is that a music show, or a theatrical production? If the latter, theatre folks locally can usually advise on cheap digs.
<EDIT>
I googled this up, not too exciting

And you can stick you sour, snide comments where the sun don't shine.
Morning, Spendy.
Morning you lot, I see the original British Thread was locked for being the most boring article on the planet: That's the only assumption I can make anyhow, I only got back into the UK yesterday and if someone doesn't liven this little secondary issue up, it will no doubt be locked also!
Trust your all ok, I see Spendi has been pontificating for the last three months and the rest of you sound like eggs being layed on a cold and frosty morning.
Obviously I ain't missed anything at all!
I'm too busy to mess about right now, a mountain of mail to get through and the jobs have built up. My dog died whilst I was away too, so I'm not a very happy person at present.
Glad to see Man U are in their rightful place for everything though, winning the treble would be a real tonic.
How on earth is my very good friend Lord Ellpus taking this?
Why don't you piss off back to Timbuktoo then, mathos?
It's been thrilling while you were away.

but it wouldnt be the same without the COGS* would it?
cantankerous old gits
morning mathos
Mathos, have you been residing somewhere at Her Majesty's pleasure?
I bet you have.
What's the food like inside?
Hey up Smorgsi, how you doing? How was your birthday party, were you 68 or something like that? Tell you what chuck, if I hadn't this house, a business, and a wife who wants to come home to see the kids and grandchildren, I would spend October to end of March out there every year, I'll e-mail you some pics and a write up when I do the same next month. Nice to see your still hanging in here with these boring dodderers.
Thanks for the greeting Stevie, nice to see your ok.
Chairman Mao still farting away with his twaddle I note.
Spendi must be scared of getting a slapping.
Take care of yourselves, all of you, your not a bad bunch of bores any old how!
The authentic voice of the utterest, most deplorable type of philistine is there writ large.
There's nothing out east of the remotest interest to a reasonably well educated English person. I can't think of one single, solitary thing.
What pray, is the one thing you might put up as the most likely thing to possibly tempt a well educated English person in to thinking about it for more than a few seconds?
It would take years to tell you about what you've missed while you have been away and I bet you are going to tell us about your end in under a thousand words (Lord have mercy upon us we beseech thee).
You're not party to the gossip in another culture. It must be like living in a shop display window.
Hi Mathos! Good to have you back. I missed ya.
x
Thanks for that Dorothy, I've missed you too. (What red blooded male could do any other).
Once I get straight with all my paperwork etc. I'll send you some brilliant pics and a write up. It was one of the best trips I ever took. Spent three weeks on a raft house on the Kwai Noi River, up at dawn, open the door, out on the verandah, dive into the river for a quick swim, nice shower to follow and then breakfast. Met a cracking young couple from Manchester who were there for about a week, and then spent some time with a Thai friend and his wife, we had some good days and and nights out, brilliant food, an odd drink or two and plenty of laughs.
Spendi, you old goat and blithering idiot to boot; 'Travel is fatal to bigotry, prejudice, and narrow mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all ones lifetime,' and one is unable to quibble with his sentiments.
Whilst one trip abroad is not good enough to wipe out years spent as an ethnocentric it is certainly a beginning. But only if you allow it to be, for too often travel, instead of broadening the mind, merely becomes a conversation piece. Use your time outside your familiar surroundings well and truly let your travels be an all embracing experience. The East is a magnificent place to start. Besides its legendary hospitality it offers beautiful vistas, eco-tourism opportunities, culture and food that tantalises the taste buds for ever. That is simply the beginning. Go beyond your fixed schedule (your well worn couch) and let The Orient happen.
You no doubt live in a fantasy world of defunct crap writers and even crappier cricket objectives and standards.
Your lack of knowledge on any personal basis save for your army, navy or air force stunt in the middle east is about as interesting or beneficial to mankind and readers of this thread as placing a rabid infected dog in Battersea dog's home!
PS It's good to know your still about though, why don't you tell me were you live and I can buy you a pint and have a night out with you?
Mathos! A bit early for Resurrection Day?
