It's way better than the latest Rocky Balboa movie. And it's based on a true story.

Excellent movie.

Of course it's better than Rocky. Cinderella Man has substance and charm.

It is good. Much better than the Rocky movie that just came out. But better than the FIRST Rocky movie? No way.

I was actually doing some boxing moves when I saw the Baer vs. Braddock fight.

I wasn't a big Rocky fan either, I was a junior in high school when it came out in 1976, and I thought he was a big goofball.

But you know what? A month ago I'm listening to NPR and they've got their reporters out in Philly, interview people who visit and run up the steps where Rocky did. They've got his foot prints there and people all the way from little kids to old ladies jump and down with their arms in the air.
They were playing the Rocky music in the background while interviewing Marge and Gertrude, two old friends who were reinacting the scene by actually letting go of their walkers for a second, and waving their arms. I'm dead serious when I say I got all choked up while driving my car, and had to wipe away some tears. It was beautiful man.

Yeah, Cinderella Man was a lot better movie.

But it did make me want to do this....

I saw this movie once by chance, when it was on HBO or something- and it was SO good!

I've never seen Rocky though, never really had the interest. Should I? I'm talking the original one of course....

Yeah, I think you should.

However, keep in mind that the first one was a low budget film, so don't look for it to be all flamboyant.

I think what gets people about the original Rocky is that here's this nobody, the common man, not even as bright as most, but boy oh boy does he have HEART.

That jumping up and down on the top of the steps thing? What got me all emotional thinking back on it was the lead up to that one shot, the 5 or 10 minutes before it.

It just gets you right here (tapping over heart) like, whoa, he REALLY wants this. Then, you're feeling, I really want something TOO! I can do it! I can too!!!
