Does anyone know the physical corporate location of ebay in the UK, and who to contact there regarding corporate matters ? They seem to exist only on the internet, and that cannot be so. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Hi R P,
Yes and thanks. I knew that as I used to live there, but they must physically exist in the UK as well, as folks work for them. I have this address but it does not tell me anything other than the local post office. Ebay International AG PO Box 57097 LONDON EC1P 1RD. How can people deal with phantoms? Question

eBay
Many thanks chaps/chapesses. Carmelite I think is the old newspaper office (Carmelite House) Daily Express?), and probably just a registered office address. I don't think that anyone is actually there !!!!

The Richmond address is another post office box number address, but would, I admit, seem to show that they are somewhere in the Richmond/Twickenham Surrey area, as it would seem, so are Paypal.

There surely must be a contact address for a human being and some physical corporate structure with whom one can deal for day to day business matters. They advertise on commmercial television, so where are they and how do you deal with them direct? Question

Ebay is notorious for their inaccessibility.

I suspect you will find that, like many other eCommerce companies, there are sales people in the UK. The lead sales person is probably responsible for collecting mail from the P.O. boxes (or it is automatically forwarded) and the sales team all works from their private residences.

Someone is selling ads on eBay UK so there must be sales people beating the streets and visiting those companies. There probably is no physical office though.

I did find this however:

Douglas McCallum
Managing Director of eBay UK

Doug McCallum was appointed Managing Director of eBay UK in December 2001 and oversees strategic planning, business development and operations for the UK market.

Doug began his career as a strategy consultant with Monitor Company but moved into operations as the Managing Director of Intel's PC subsidiary in Russia. Doug returned to London to become one of the pioneers of the UK internet industry founding, in 1995, the online consumer division of Capital Radio plc and later PretNet, the business-to-business division of Pret A Manger. Douglas has also founded or served as a director of other British internet companies including Ultrasis, the AIM-listed online healthcare firm.

Doug graduated from Oxford in 1988 where he won a Rotary Scholarship and from Harvard Business School in 1994 where he was awarded a Fouraker Scholarship.

Doug lives in South West London, is married with a son and is a keen tennis player. He hopes to eventually retire on the proceeds of selling (on eBay, of course) his most prized collectable: the still-functioning first production model of the Newton Personal Digital Assistant, a trophy given to him by Apple Computer Company for his work on the product's launch while at Harvard in 1993
.

Maybe you can track him down???

Pity, I don't have time to look right now.
I would love the bun (*hungry*).
