How do I use the DOI system?

I was reading a very interesting article in New Scientist the other day concerning a new anti-cancer drug. However, when I tried to find the actual study they were talking about, I came across this puzzling reference:

(Cancer Cell, DOI: 10.1016/j.ccr.2006.10.020)

As far as I can tell, it's a Digital Object Identifier, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to find the article with the DOI given. Google doesn't come up with anything except the New Scientist article and Entrez Pubmed doesn't recognise the DOI at all.

Could anybody help me find the original article from the DOI, please?

(One of the authors of the research article should be called Michelakis).

type the following web address into your browser.
It will take you to a website which allows you to enter the dio:reference, ie., that which follows DOI:

dx(dot)doi(dot)org but replace (dot) with .

[I have to write it this way because some sites don't allow web addresses to be typed]
