hello, i've been using fireworks mx, and have found that the grid is set to a default of 36px*36px, which sometimes means that it is hard to position the pictures exactly where it is needed - so i go to the view options and change the grid to 1px*1px...by changing the grid it works fine, (ques 1)But is there a way to make 1px*1px the default so that i do not need to change it each time?
ques 2
what does the resolution (pixel/inch or pixel/cm) mean?
ques 3
are there any sites/books (preferably sites) that you think are really good that will teach me the things i need to know to use fireworks efficiently?
thanks
1) dunno, if you play around I bet you figure it out but I don't know off the top of my head.
2) pixels per inch or per centimeter.
3) The help files that come with the software are extensive. I strongly recommend completing the tutorials that come with it as it will afford you a much greater understanding of the software.

yes, i got that much, but what i really meant was what do they mean? like what is the difference between putting 72 pixels/cm and say... 5pixels/cm ?, and which one would be recommened
thanks
Do you want a high resolution or a low resolution?
The more pixels the higher teh quality.
pyko, 72 pixels/inch is pretty standard quality for web/screen graphics.
for print you'd need something much higher though, like 300-600 pixels/inch.
