Okay: I actually know how to do this.

But I don't know, why my computer now "says" I didn't do it Crying or Very sad

(When I click on any of those buttons - IMG or URL - a pop-up windows opens at once, saying, I didn't add an url or an image. "I got no chance"")

I suppose, it has to do with some features on my [new] computer I might have changed.

Not sure I can help you, but it would probably help those experts who can to know the OS of the new computer, and the browser you are using.

Quick thought: Could your security settings be set too high? Java turned off? Etc?

since i upgraded to windows - home XP i have to click on "temporarily allow ... " to be able to add a URL .
while it's a bit of extra work , it seems to keep out unwanted pop-ups and other spam .
i've decided not to lower the security setting and stay as safe as possible .

I also have the "temporarily allow" as an extra step, since upgrading the Internet Explorer (to the latest one - IE7 ?).

Bit of a nuisance, but I've now got used to doing it automatically.

I didn't have it on IE7 AND XP pro, but now got it on IE/ and XP home.

Funny. And annoying.

"annoying. "

can't you eliminate it by changing tour security settings ?
that may stop the 'annoyance' .

from wikipedia :
Annoy (like the French ennui, a word traced by etymologists to a Latin phrase, in odio esse, to be "in hatred" or hateful of someone), to vex or affect with irritation. In the sense of "nuisance," the noun "annoyance" is found in the English "Jury of Annoyance" appointed by an act of 1754 to report upon obstructions in the highways.

Annoyance is an unpleasant mental state that is characterized by such effects as irritation and distraction from one's conscious thinking. It can lead to emotions such as frustration and anger. See also irritation.

An annoyance is a stimulus that can produce a state of annoyance in a person. It can be in the form of a persistent and mild physical pain, a younger sibling, a delayed train, an immature friend or the continued hindrance from achieving a goal.

are you experiencing "persistent and mild physical pain" or has the train been delayed Question

hamburger- The problem is that IE7 has more involved security features. I raised my security level to "paranoid". and get all sorts of roadblocks in my way. But it DOES make me feel more secure!! Laughing

That's the way I tend to look at it as well.

The only problem comes when I forget that I have the volume right up from a previous music session, and am therefore regularly startled by an extremely loud "BOLL-OOP!" sound when the reminder appears.

Frightens the bloody life out of me when I'm sitting there, half asleep.

I don't think you'll need that if you just type
Code:[img]
in front of the image and
Code:[/img]
right behind it, e. g.
Code:
should yield you http://uo.stratics.com/hunters/movies/dog.gif if you eliminate the code tags and the square brackets around them.

It appears the original problem is due to over-aggressive popup blocking.
