My Canon i950 printer was not printing proper color so I went to the help page which advised me to click on the maintenance tab. Looking under "programs>Canon i950 I couldn't find any page with printer controls/tabs. I uninstalled the program thinking that by reinstalling it the page with those functions might appear. Somewhere along the line I put a print job in the print queue and now the printer program won't allow me to reinstall without eliminating the print job from the queue. As far as I can see I have no way of doing that with out access to that control panel. Any ideas?
Man, that is hard to read with half the words in green text with underlines.
Well, I don't know, Pitter. I've always been able to access the control panel from the start menu, and from there, get into the printer section. If this is what you tried, I can't help. If not, click Start, then Control Panel. Now look for the "Printers & Faxes" block. Get into that and select the printer you want to install. You should be able to highlight your printer, highlight the print job, and delete it. You should also be able to uninstall from this area, too.
I've got the feeling I'm telling you to do what you've already tried. If so, sorry, but this should work.
Odd there are no green words in my view anyway thank you Roger. I did get the print queue up and eliminated the print jobs. The printer install program then allowed me to reinstall it. However and with everything connected the print command doesn´t seem to be read by the computer and I still can´t find the page with all the control options such as maintenance. Hmmm...
How did you install the printer?
Did you go through the windows control panel or just use the install disk?
Most printers install by using the install disk which would load all the other programs. If you used the printer install in windows it probably only installed the driver.
Roger and parados thank you, thank you! All is well again!
