Now that is one healthy male.

These birds have trouble flying, Roberta. Not so much getting off the ground, as much as steering.

They often crash into trees, if fleeing from something or other.

Dominant males like this one, spend a lot of time protecting their territory from others.

Thanks for the video. Fuzzy little guy.

It seems that many male birds sacrifice flying ability for plumage or other mating requirements. Not sure I understand the cause of this bird's aviation difficulties.

It appears to be the vertical tail orientation. They fly in a straight line.

More of a ground bird, like the emu, but still capable of flight to escape.

Alpha males like this one furiously chase off any other male. Good video here
