TTH, Mesquite posted that very picture back in November. (I tried to add a link here, but I messed up.)

I love that shot and am happy to see it again. Thanks for posting it.

mesquite, Love the hawks in the cactus. Birds of prey have some mighty helpless-looking offspring. But if they manage to become adults, watch out.

An insect from Indonesia. (The site was not in English, so I can't tell you what it is. Sorry.)

I love the squirrels! How cute!!! Ok, I couldn't resist. This is not a great quality picture but this is my horse Indy when she was five months old.

Roberta, your black spotted frog reminded me of our corroboree frog. I may have posted this one before.

re the frilled neck lizard.

The temperature at which the eggs are incubated determines the sex of the baby frilled-neck lizard, but it does much more than that.

"Temperature affects things like the size of the hatchling, shape, behaviour, their running speed, a whole range of things,"

Outta sight amphibian, dadpad.

Temperature also dictates the sex of crocodilians.

Photo by b jordan who had this to say about the photo. He was in the top of my Cypress tree, and I started taking shots of him with my flash. He got tired of it, spread his wings and dropped right over my head.

osso, There are tapirs in South America that aren't quite so stylish. They start out fancy shmancy--

http://www.fotosearch.com/comp/sby/sby850/young-brazilian-tapir-calf-beside-river-central-or-south-america-~-200351579-001.jpg

But then they dull down to plain old brown:
