I'm fairly confident that these are fauna, not flora:

A small mantis in my backyard, the larvae is pink and the adult will be white. When it is a larvae it is mimetic of pink flower then it will hunt in white ones. Photographed in Franceville, Gabon. #

Nicobar Pigeon is my favorite bird that resides in Central Park's zoo. I located one sitting on a branch in a bright area of the tree with a deep shadow behind it. Waiting for the right moment to capture its beauty in the fullest was the name of the game. A few minutes later the bird partially spread its wings, displaying its glorious colors, and I was fortunate enough to be there to capture it. #

@vonny,
Hey, in Spanish do they call this a shark whale? (you know how romance languages do noun then adjective, where english does adjective then noun?)

Coffee time!

@edgarblythe,
Wow, it's a Dire Cat.

So weird to see a seemingly grumpy face on a coon - they are such friendly loves.

@InfraBlue,
Oh, literally? My spanish is crap - I would have thought ballena was whale (same root as 'baleen'?). Looking it up. Yep - Shark Whale. Awesome.

Tiburon is shark. Personally I think the word for 'fast sea moving death machine' should have one short syllable. That you can yell. Quickly.

@hingehead,
Numbers are adjectives, and they always seem to precede the noun.

I'm not so sure about that. They don't actually describe the noun, just count it. I had a look on the web and the jury is out (there is a very long thread on Reddit on this).

Most of the arguments for are about syntactic correctness. Makes my brain hurts thinking about it.

Roger, I couldn't open your link. Phooey.

Central Asian shepherd. I encountered two of these one night on Third Avenue and 88th Street. I have never seen such a massive dog. I've seen many large breeds, but this IMO was the most solid, giganto dog I've ever encountered. The owner said that the male was almost 180 pounds.

Oh, a Spanish speaker could say tiburón pretty quickly, heh.

The dog's pee stream looks odd from that angle.
