@edgarblythe,
I wish the urls on photos would more often tell what the picture is.

@vonny,
Wolves are magnificent predators, partly because they leave no tracks in the snow.

@roger,
Reminds me of a poem

The mud elephant
Wading through the sea
Leaves no track

Hey you guys, I've been remiss in responding. Shame on me, big time. There have been some amazing, spectacular pics.

I'm still recovering from the toitle with the moss. Is it a hat or hair. Who cares? I'm stunned. The baby sting rays also leave me with my mouth hanging open (no flying insects at this time of the year, fortunately). Impressed as hell with that octopus. On the animal intelligence thread, octopi came in high on the scale of smarts. Nobody said anything about houdini. I didn't know that wolves don't leave footprints in the snow. Live and loin I always say. Well, I sometimes say.

Mooches grassy ass a todos.

Scarlet ibises (they take my breath away):

edgar, I'm hoping that the person who took the picture of the elephants wasn't lying on the ground to get the shot. That's a helluva view.

Yup, chimps are smart.

A very bossy walk by a Jackal buzzard, in South Africa. Photo submitted by Clint Ralph to Africa Geographic's Photographer of the Year competition.

A camera trap caught a grizzly reaching for fruit in the branches of an apple tree. Grizzlies are frequent visitors to yards like this one in front of a historic house along Yellowstone’s northern boundary.
