An old and dear friend sent me a bunch of photos of animals parenting in the wild. Here's another:

@Roberta,
Oh, gee.

My mother use to tell me stories. What age, I can't pinpoint, early though. She worked up a scenario of kittens being carried by their mother to somewhere for some reason, but I remember the scruff of the neck thing. Barely remember her voice, very Boston but there would have been some california-ese in there. We had taped voices, decades later on an early tape deck but then there was a garage robbery. Sigh.

Anyway, great photo.

@hingehead,
pedant, shmedant. We don't care about stuff like that. We just wanna know if the pup is a fox. I didn't say cuz I wasn't sure--fox? wolf? Some other canine?

Thanks, ped.

Actually kit, cub, and pup are all acceptable. And I thought about it before I used 'pup'. If you have to be a pedant, you should probably be correct when making corrections.

@snood,
Acceptable to who?

If you're going to generalise you should probably.

@hingehead,
Great comeback. Much better than something so pedestrian as admitting you stepped in it. Bravo.

@snood,
Good lord Snood - what is your problem?

The reason I did the pedant tags was because I knew it was ridiculous. Then I post a ridiculous response. And you are still whingeing.

Stop reinforcing my preconceptions that Americans are irony challenged.

Oh and I did make another mistake

I left out a comma.

You should, probably.

Sigh.

@hingehead,
Hey, I know irony when I see it.

Hoping for peace on my favorite thread. My safe haven in a sea of debate.

Cup, pup, kit. It's a steenkin' baby fox. Hey, baby fox! Stop biting the tail that feeds you. Sigh.

It's one of my favorite threads, so in honor of it, I will withhold any further comments to the ironic pedant.

German short haired pointers are so goofy. Love them. They don't know their own size to and that they don't really fit on people's laps.
