New Zealand fur seals join albatrosses and seagulls in a feeding frenzy on and around Eddystone, a rock towering above the waves. Eddystone, an ancient remnant of the mainland—is about 27 kilometers (17 miles) off the coast of Tasmania, Australia.

We have another new addition to the family. His name is Caesar and he’s about 9 months old, hand fed Catalina Macaw. We’ve had him for about three months and he’s talking up a storm. The kids love him to death and he’s as sweet and tame as can be.

Caesar’s father was a Scarlett Macaw and his mother a blue and gold. So he has blue and green on his back and bright orange on the front with a little yellow here and there.

@jcboy,
I love the expression on his face! So intelligent.

@edgarblythe,
jc, I've had six birds as pets. None as large or a gorgeous as yours. These guys are smart--and bossy. Enjoy.

vonny, Amazing shot. At first I thought it was a retriever.

edgar, An impressive and imposing guy. Not a guy I'd want punching me, but come to think of it, I don't want any guy punching me.
