@FBM,

Thanks, I got lucky with the position of the stinger. The critter had just zotted my mate Mario in the ankle when he was walking around the kitchen.

I picked up a king brown snake, mistaking it for a python. I ended up sinking it into an esky full of ice water to dull its reflexes, before slipping it off my arm. They do get quite attached, when you grab them around the neck, hey?

The pads are hard to spot at the angle of the photograph, which is from Beagle Bay, north of the port of Broome, in Australia's north west.
