Well, my horse won the Derby. I could see the race on replay. Naturally, I cried at the end, just like when I watch the Secretariat replay.

The replay -

Some of the reasons I like the winner -

I'd forgotten until this afternoon that I saw the derby winner in Chrome's lineage, Swaps, in real life, either the same year ('55) or the year after Swaps won the Derby; my father knew I was reading the newspapers about Swaps, and took me to Hollywood Park to see him. I've no memory if he won that one or not.

Happy for all involved with Chrome re the outcome, especially the owners (regular working types with just the one low priced horse).

Well, hard to pick one to be happy for.

Meantime the USA today clip changes (whatever). When I saw it, it was the whole race, crowded upside the head and dramatic

@void123,
Sorry! When I first posted on this thread and didn't know how to post images, I did what you did and only put the link to the page instead of the photo - someone very kindly went to that link and posted the photo for me. I tried to repeat the same courtesy for you but obviously - in your case - that was the wrong thing to do.

From the SF Weekly - Coyote Uses Crosswalk on Geary Boulevard
By Erin Sherbert
Thu., Apr. 24 2014 at 8:20 AM
And, as one reader noted: he's not on his cellphone! This is a pretty good example of how pedestrians should be on the roadways in San Francisco -- even if the example is a coyote.

Jennifer Anwaya snapped this image which we spotted on Richmondsfblog.com this morning. Apparently, the prairie wolf was seen casually making his way across Geary Boulevard at 37th Avenue earlier this week.

No word on where he was headed that evening. Perhaps it was just an urban stroll.

@vonny,
Yeow! We've got those over here. I've been chased by them. I can't believe somebody is letting one crawl on their hand!
