Also new to me, Spotted Handfish. Endangered Australian species from the waters around Tasmania. Can't imagine why it's called a 'handfish'

@hingehead,
HH, I've seen the pink fairy armadillo. Love it! I've seen pictures of fish that walk, but the handfish is new to me. Awesome. I, too, am mystified as to why it's called a handfish. Go figure.

Here's a red-lipped batfish. It walks on four fins:

@vonny,
vonny, Reminded of Ode to a Meadowlark. Thanks. Glad to see the pangolin close up. I didn't know they had little hairs. Live and loin. That is one doozy caterpillar. Do you know what it turns into, butterfly-wise?

@dlowan,
Hey, bunny. This creation is beyond Dali's abilities. But I see where you might make a connection.

@trying2learn,
An Irish wolfhound. Big, big dog. Don't see them in the city. Thanks, t2l.

Speaking of hounds, here's an elkhound. Not really much of a hound, but that's what it's called. Don't see many of these either.

@Roberta,
I took care of a Great Dane recently and my husband said "what a gentle giant". That cracked me up. The Irish Wolfhound is known as the gentle giant.

btw I do see Irish Wolfhounds and have taken care of them. They are so sweet.

@trying2learn,
IMO, there's more than one gentle giant in the dog world. I've had personal experience with great danes. One of them tried to sit in my lap. It was kind of a parking maneuver. She backed in.
