Rosborne, Absolutely amazing shots. Thanks mucho.
I thought the eagle picture was great until I saw this last one..
those last three seem by the same photographer.
Gorgeous series of shots, Ros!
Stunning photos, Rosborne. STUNNING, I tell ya. Thanks for posting them.
from today's The Guardian (the 24 hours in pictures series), a photo of a happy pig in Brazil

Da pig looks happy, osso. I smile with it. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I don't know about beautiful exactly, but on the other hand, I personally really really like that photo.
The pleasure is so apparent it's near chilling.
or, not chilling, so wallowy....
possibly answering multiple threads on a2k re "what is happiness".
I think it is beautiful, osso.
Blue-crowned motmot:
Hummingbird:
Interesting zoo photos (1912 - 1914) in this photo series in today' Guardian. There are seventeen photos.

Here's one -
Loved the photos, osso. Mooches grassy ass.
Much to think about in that series, re animals and us (also animals). Zoos, a giant subject, of which I have some design acquaintance, but no expertise.
Still, whatever my views, I love seeing these old photos and the apparent care. (I surmise there is another side. Whatever, I'm looking at these photos now.)
Warwick, I think I like him, in retrospect.
osso, The link was to photos. Don't know who Warwick is. Tried to find something in google, but was stymied.
Spotted cuscus:
Frigate bird (the silhouette of these birds in flight reminds me of pterosaurs):
Male frigate hoping to attract a mate:
Warwick was one of the Keepers, perhaps more in the hierarchy, but, to me at early glance, really interested in the animals.
I suppose there are interviews and studies on this.
(or that).
